Description

Wholesome country living isn't what it used to be... This town has a dark side, but what will these cops sacrifice to save it? A compelling suspense, set in the outback. Blue lights in the red dust... Echo Springs on the edge of the outback - a town where everyone knows your name, and your business. But the wholesome country living and welcoming community aren't what they used to be. Echo Springs has a dark underbelly, and it is seeping ever outward. Four cops... The small police station is overrun, and officers are working overtime to stem the tide of illegal activity from graffiti through to murder. From prickly Leila to heartsore Ben, Cooper with something to prove to Mac who's driven to succeed, the Echo Springs force is determined to keep the town safe. Putting everything at risk... But the stakes are higher than they've ever been, and it's not just the town these officers have to keep safe. It's their hearts as well. With bullets flying and bodies piling up, they will have to decide how much they're willing to risk and what they're willing to lose.

Author Biography

Shannon Curtis has worked as an office admin manager, distribution coordinator, dangerous goods handler, switch bitch and betting agent, and now runs her own creative services consultancy. She decided to write a story like those she loves to read whilst at home after the birth of her first child. Her first two books were shortlisted for Favourite Romantic Suspense by the Australian Romance Readers Association. http://www.shannoncurtis.com/ Ruin. Romance. Redemption. That's the magic trifecta Daniel de Lorne promises readers of his books. Whether it's irresistible vampires, paranormal paramours, or hot everyday men, Daniel's books go for the heart. And the stomach. And the spleen (just for good measure). In his other life, Daniel is a professional writer and researcher in Perth, Australia, with a love of history and nature. All of which makes for great story fodder. And when he's not working, he and his husband explore as much of this amazing world as they can, from the ruins of Welsh abbeys to trekking famous routes and swimming with whales. To get to the real heart of the matter, visit Daniel's website. TJ's passion for storytelling developed after leaving the police force where she used her knowledge to create stories of mystery and intrigue. She has won the coveted Scarlet Stiletto Award for the Sisters In Crime and was shortlisted for Endemol-Shine's ROAR: Smart For A Girl initiative to develop women writers for screen. A voracious reader and a born performer, it came as no surprise to anyone when she did a double major in English Literature and Drama for her BA, then went on to a career as an actor, singer and dancer, as well as script writer, stage manager and musical director for cabaret and theatre restaurants (one of which she co-owned and ran for six years). After starting a family, Leisl stopped performing and instead, began writing the stories that had been plaguing her dreams. Leisl's stories have won and placed in many competitions in Australia and the US, including the STALI, Golden Opportunities, Heart of the West, Linda Howard Award of Excellence, Touch of Magic and many others. Leisl lives in the leafy suburbs of Melbourne with her two beautiful boys, lovely hubby, overly spunky dogs, Buffy and Skye, and likes to spend time with family and friends. She is addicted to the Syfy channel, and her shelves are full of fantasy and paranormal books and scifi DVDs. She sometimes sings in a choir, has worked as a swim teacher, loves to ski, can talk the hind leg off a donkey and has been President of Romance Writers of Australia from 2014-2017.
