Description

Chris offers step-by-step instructions for all the traditional whittling favourites like spoons, forks and flowers, plus some decidedly funny animals and the classic curly tail rooster. He also provides sage advice on how to choose wood, sharpen a blade and safely control your knife. Published in collaboration with Victorinox (R) AG, makers of the Original Swiss Army Knife.

Author Biography

Chris Lubkemann grew up in the forests of Brazil and Peru, where he entertained himself-and others-by handcrafting rafts, tree houses, traps and slingshots from scrap wood. Since that time, he has continued to integrate his woodworking skills with good old-fashioned fun. Chris has carved some of the world's smallest branch carvings and his smallest branch rooster was given a Guinness World Record Certificate. Chris currently demonstrates whittling as the resident woodcarver at the Amish Farm and House in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Reviews

All it takes is a little time and Chris will have you turning out gifts & conversation pieces like a pro! --Men's Gear Authored by "whittling professional" Chris Lubkemann, the Swiss Army Knife Whittling Book guides readers through 43 different projects that require nothing more than pieces of wood and a Victorinox Original Swiss Army Knife for the most part. Whether you're a novice looking to develop your woodworking skills, a hobbyist in search of new projects, or that dude who wants to finally justify carrying a folding knife everywhere you go (you can whittle while waiting for the train), this book should make for an excellent reference that you can return to for many hours of fun. --CoolThings.com
