Author Biography
Erich Maria Remarque, born Erich Paul Remark, was a German novelist who created many works about the terror of war. His best known novel is "All Quiet on the Western Front" (1928) which tells the tale of German soldiers in the First World War. This was followed by "The Road Back" (1931) and "The Three Comrades" (1936). Maurice Del Bourgo has worked in American comic books since the 1940s and 1950s. He worked for many companies, like Avon, Ace Periodicals, Better Publications, Orbit Publications and Marvel, doing crime, western and romance titles. He worked on DC's 'Crimson Avenger' and 'Green Arrow', Hillman's 'Airboy' and 'Twilight'. Del Bourgo was also a productive artist for Gilberton's Classics Illustrated series. He contributed among others adaptations of Friedrich Schiller ('William Tell'), Ann S. Stephans ('Buffalo Bill'), Jack London and Alexandre Dumas.
