Author Biography

John Dougherty is a Northern Irish writer who now lives in Gloucestershire. He worked as a primary school teacher until 2004, when he became a full-time author. His first book, Zeus on the Loose, was shortlisted for the Branford Boase Award, and he is the author of the hugely popular Stinkbomb and Ketchup-Face books for primary-age children. John is chair of the UK Children's Writers and Illustrators Group of the Society of Authors. Tom Morgan-Jones is an award-winning illustrator based in Cambridge. His work is widely exhibited and internationally published, from children's books and magazines to satirical board games. His books for children include Mangy Mummies and Gory Gladiators in the Awfully Ancient series, five titles in the Short Sharp Shakespeare series and The Unlikely Outlaws by Philip Ardagh.
