Besides being pretty, intelligent and courageous, Yoko Tsuno is an electronics engineer. This specialization draws her and friends Pol and Vic into adventures that cross the border between fantasy and science fiction. Yoko crosses the globe and travels through time and space; but no matter where her exploits take her, the young girl always remains faithful to herself, never forgetting values such as loyalty, friendship and respect for life. Author Biography
Born on 17 November, 1933 in Verviers, Belgium, it was while working for Herge that Roger Leloup started in the graphic novel world. During his 15 years at the Herge studios, he was involved notably in the drawing of Alix and Tintin adventures. In December 1969, Leloup left the Studios Herge to work fulltime on his own series, Yoko Tsuno, which focuses on technology and science fiction. Leloup is a pure perfectionist student of the Herge School, as gifted in writing as in drawing, and he creates real jewels with his graphic novels. In 1990, he received the 'Science-Fiction Award' in the 'Youth' category for his first novel, 'Le Pic des Tenebres' (The Peak of Darkness). He resides in Belgium.
