In this beautifully illustrated board book, vet and TV presenter Dr Jess French provides the perfect introduction to living with dogs and puppies for young children. In charming rhyming text, she shows how to read a dog's body language and what your pet might be trying to tell you through their tail wags, ear position and more! The book also provides tips for children on how to interact safely with their dog, to help them quickly become the best of friends. The perfect gift for the new young pet owner and their parents.

Author Biography

Dr. Jess French loves all animals. She loves the natural world they live in, too. She thinks it is very important that we all work hard to protect the natural world, so she writes books about how we can do that. The books are mainly marketed at a children, but Jess knows that it's mostly the grown ups that need educating. She hopes that the wonderful children that read her books will be kind enough to educate the silly grown ups they meet about animals, the environment and what we can do to save them. As well as writing, Jess works as a vet. She once ultrasounded a snow leopard and has also looked inside a crocodile's stomach! She is sometimes seen on CBeebies talking about minibeasts and also works as a teacher for school groups that are interested in animals and the natural world. Penelope Dullaghan grew up playing outside, swimming in lakes and drawing pictures. She still loves all those things today, and now it's her job to make pictures! When she's not working in her home studio, she's usually homeschooling her daughter (who wants to be an artist when she grows up, too), going camping in the woods or trying to get things to grow in her garden.
