Description

A delightful counting book featuring some very cheeky Australian animals and lots of humour. How hard can it be to find a bit of peace and quiet? Wombat is tired and just wants to rest. But it's hard to sleep during the day when a bunch of noisy birds want to sing and play. The magpies keep whistling, the fairy wrens are flitting about and don't even talk about the kookaburras. Poor tired wombat. Will he ever get to sleep? One Very Tired Wombat is a charming counting book featuring some very cheeky Australian animals.

Reviews

"[A] playful tale." --Publishers Weekly "A wombat, a bilby, a puggle (platypus), and others are monochromatically illustrated in realistic yet adorable fashion against colorful backdrops." --Kirkus Reviews on Once I Heard a Little Wombat "Charming and instructive."--The New York Times "The judicious use of color and white space makes each two-page spread a work of art as well as a visual delight. Elegant, informative, engaging." --Kirkus Reviews "Writing in rhymes that never hit a false note, Treml provides a lilting introduction to Australian wildlife in this counting board book."--Publishers Weekly on Ten Little Owls
