Description

Holly Fitzgerald has inexplicably woken up inside the body of an LA teenager called Trinity Byrne in 1980 - trapping Trinity in Holly's forty-year-old body back in Melbourne, 2020. Mind. Officially. Blown. Holly finds herself navigating a brand-new body, family and cute boy next door - not to mention rock band that might just make it, and potential kidnapper. Meanwhile, lies intersect with truth, hurtling both Holly and Trinity towards a dangerous fate as the connections between them grow deeper and stranger than either could have ever imagined. Freaky Friday meets Pretty Little Liars - if the Liars were an all-girl punk band from the 1980s - in this highly original soul-swap story from the critically acclaimed author of My Life as a Hashtag. 'An absolute delight. Funny, clever, compelling, and utterly original.' NINA KENWOOD, It Sounded Better in My Head

Reviews

'I loved it so much. It's such a special book, full of intrigue and joy and angst at a breakneck pace. I devoured it. The characters leapt off the page and into my heart and I've been thinking about them for days. The ending was so perfect, I was in floods of (happy) tears. It's perfect for teenagers or anyone who was once a teenager, for mums and for anyone who has ever had a mum.' FRANCES CHAPMAN, Stars Like Us '[Williams] is such a skilful - and joyful - writer, and she perfectly calibrates both the time-travel/body-swap element, and an intricate and often surprising plot. I wanted to enter the world of this novel... and in fact, I started it one Sunday afternoon and didn't pause to eat (or make) dinner until I finished it at 9pm.' InDaily 'A witty and humorous story that transcends the boundaries of time and explores everything from fate to soulmates and serial killers.' Teen Breathe 'Readers both young and old will enjoy this unique story of navigating a brand-new body, meeting new family, friends and mixed-up emotions, all while trying to figure out who you can trust, who's trying to kill you and if everything's going to work out...I loved every minute of it.' Reading with a Chance of Tacos '[A] fast-paced time-travel narrative...The magical realism used creates some unique reading in this popular body-swap style of writing...there is something about this narrative that bites the reader in a fresh and original way.' NSW English Teachers Association journal 'I really loved this one, it was just so much fun!' Book Book Owl
