Description

As the Director of Family Life in South Australia Gina Dawson has years of experience teaching the facts of life to children. This book was written in response to requests from parents for a book that explains those facts to children in a simple and direct way. Although it is essentially about reproduction, and those facts have not changed, any child reading So That's Where I Came From will be reassured to find themselves in it-- adopted, fostered, living with a grandparent, with two mothers or two fathers be they step parents or same sex. All children will see this book as an affirmation of their family.

Author Biography

Gina Dawson is a former teacher and teacher-trainer with a lifelong love of books. Living in the inner suburbs of Adelaide with her husband and uni-student daughter, she loves federation style architecture, cottage gardens and being taken for long walks past both by her German Shepherd. She also enjoys her husband's fantastic cooking, travel, reading and writing across a number of genres. So That's Where I Came From is her first book, and she has plans to write more. Beth Norling was brought up in an unusual house full of books and treasures from around the world, but her favourite things were the illustrated books. She liked the feeling that illustrations take you someplace else without ever leaving your seat! Beth now divides her time between being a mum of two, writing and illustrating children's books, and sculpting works of a contemporary nature.
