Author Biography

Maggie Fischer is originally from Oregon, but now lives in Seattle, Washington, after receiving her B.A. in English from Gonzaga University. The daughter of a children's librarian, Maggie has grown up surrounded by books and feels impossibly lucky to write and edit books for kids. She spends her time trying not to get worried about the increasing number of crows in her backyard, petting her enormous cat, Finch, and drinking more coffee than is probably healthy. Kelly Breemer is an illustrator from the lovely green city Arnhem, in the Netherlands. She loves the freelance illustrator life because her work days are diverse, creative, energetic, and positive-and that fits her very well! After graduating from art school in 2012, Kelly started working in many different creative fields: children's books, animation, typography and lettering, infographics, character design, and painting murals. Eventually Kelly found out that books were her favorite. Then she started working for Astound as an illustrator-and she feels like the projects are just as diverse, even more fun, and she's excited to start drawing again every new work day!
