Super Agent. Maverick. Reformer. Iconoclast. Dealmaker. Dentist. Jerry Argovitz has worn many hats in his remarkable life, both inside and outside of the world of sports. In this book, he not only tells his colorful story but also reveals his plan for the reform of college athletics, reform he believes has been coming for at least thirty years.

Author Biography

Dr. Jerry Argovitz was a professional football revolutionary whose bitter contract wars with the NFL led to the current system of free agency. As a player agent, he negotiated the first million-dollar deal in NFL history (for Heisman Trophy-winner Billy Sims) and as the co-owner of the USFL's Houston Gamblers he (as a member of the league's competition committee) implemented the concept of instant replay, the coach's challenge, the two-point conversion and wide-open passing rules, all of which were subsequently adopted by the NFL. J. David Miller, a former editor at SPORT magazine, is the author or co-author of ten books who has also written more than a thousand articles for both national and international periodicals. A recipient of the coveted "Page One" award from the New York Newspaper Guild for his outstanding investigative journalism, he lives with his family in St. Petersburg, Florida.
