Author Biography
Michael Dahl is the prolific author of the bestselling Goodnight, Baseball picture book and more than 200 other books for children and young adults. He has won the AEP Distinguished Achievement Award three times for his nonfiction, a Teacher's Choice award from Learning magazine, and a Seal of Excellence from the Creative Child Awards. Dahl currently lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Chris Garbutt graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University in 1998 with a First Class BA Honours degree in Graphic Arts and Illustration. Soon after completing his degree, Chris left West Yorkshire to peddle his wares in London, Paris and the USA. He currently lives in Los Angeles, California with his girlfriend and a gaggle of cats. Chris' illustrations are mainly produced digitally but usually begin life as silly doodles on post-it notes. Chris has worked with a variety of clients including Disney, Dreamworks, Walker Books, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, BT, Nestle, Aarman Animation, Oddbins, BBC, M&S, Sainsbury's, Scholastic and Vodaphone. Projects have ranged from the redesign of the Silent Night logo for kids' beds, to creating a new cover design for Macmillan's classic Just William stories. Chris also works in the animation industry for TV, Features and Commercials, enjoying various roles from producing, writing, directing and art directing, to storyboarding and character design. Projects have included The Amazing World of Gumball, the Gorillaz, The Fairly Odd Parents, Mr Bean, Robotboy, and Stressed Eric. Most recently he has been the Executive Producer, Show-Runner and Art Director of a new TV series he co-created called Pinky Malinky for Nickelodeon, which will be airing some time in 2018.
ReviewsCommas are never in a hurry explain the commas who narrate this story and share tips in dialogue bubbles. While some text explains what commas can do, the rest is a story about a whale and his friends. . . .I'm so impressed by how skillfully the story and the instruction are woven together.-- "Imagination Soupl"
