Description

Lug the cave boy has become a hero to his clan. (so let's keep those nightmares he's been having--and his sudden skittishness around most anlmals--under wraps, shall we?) But with a giant glacier moving toward the village at surprising speed, on course to crush the whole settlement, lug and his friends have a new crisis to solve. Maybe blast, the mysterious northern boy who lives on the glacier, can help them. Or maybe it will be up to lug to save the day again, whether he's ready for it or not.

Reviews

A rogue glacier is heading towards Lug's village and mayhem ensues. The people in the village have never seen something like this before and Lug, along with his friends and his trusted mammoth, Woolly, decide to investigate. They discover that the glacier is actually the home of Blast, a seemingly innocuous fellow cavemen whose mission is to steal the local livestock of the villages he encounters. It's now up to Lug and friends to stop Blast from absconding with their animals and save the village from further plunder. This delightful series serves up laughs and action throughout. Fans of the previous tale will enjoy this outing and will eagerly anticipate further adventures from their favorite prehistoric friend.--School Library Journal -- "Journal" (12/16/2016 12:00:00 AM) Lug, the boy who'd rather paint cave walls, is back in a second adventure. With a fast-approaching glacier, Lug and his friends Stony and Echo are caught up in saving their clans from a frosty demise. On their first close-up view of the glacier, they discover and resuscitate a boy (Blast) frozen in ice. Blast encourages them to buy into his idea of bringing their two clans into his ice castle to protect them from the glacier, but what the friends find in the ice castle quickly shifts from intriguing to frightening. When Lug is thrown into the dungeon, he discovers other groups of people being held prisoner by Blast and his cronies. Can the three friends succeed in slowing the glacier, protecting their clans, and freeing the people and animals? Zeltser pairs friendship and climate change in this adventure of good versus evil, and heroes versus bullies. With short chapters, plenteous dialogue, and humorous illustrations, this is a good choice for reluctant readers or fans of the Ice Age animated movies.--Booklist -- "Website" (9/29/2016 12:00:00 AM)
