Description

Mermaids Beattie, Mimi and Zelda, and Steve the talking seahorse, are trapped aboard the spooky ship The Merry Mary, heading for the presumed-mythical Crocodile Kingdom - a vast, crocodile-filled metropolis where nothing is quite as it seems. It's time to swim on down to the bright green lights and explore the oldest and grandest mermaid kingdom of them all! Just don't let any mermaid know you're not from there. Or else. Featuring magical mysteries, fabulous fashion, and a snappier than average transport system, the second Bad Mermaids adventure brings a whole new twist to the underwater world of mermaids. If you enjoyed Witch Wars, The Little Mermaid, or Mabel Jones you'll love this!

Author Biography

Sibeal Pounder used to work for the Financial Times where she researched the How To Spend It section and wrote the For Goodness' Sake column. Now she writes about fabulous witches and bad mermaids in her two much loved and seriously stylish series for Bloomsbury. Sibeal's first book, Witch Wars, was shortlisted for the Waterstones Children's Book Prize and the Sainsbury's Children's Book Award. Jason Cockcroft graduated from Falmouth School of Art in 1994 and has been working as an illustrator of children's books ever since. He won the Blue Peter Book Award for his work on Geraldine McCaughrean's retelling of A Pilgrim's Progress and was the illustrator on the original covers of the final three Harry Potter novels.
