Author Biography

Jennifer Bell's MG novel Wonderscape was Waterstones Children's Book of the Month. Her bestselling The Uncommoners series sold translation rights in 15 countries and was a Waterstones Children's Book of the Month. Inspired by her career as a former children's bookseller at Foyles, Jennifer is widely known for the magical story worlds she creates. Jennifer lives in Surrey. Co-creator Alice Lickens is an illustrator, author and designer based in London. Winner of the prestigious Sendak Fellowship for illustration, Alice is also Designer at London's House of Illustration. She has worked as Quentin Blake's designer and her picture books include Can You Dance to the Boogaloo? and How To Be A Cowboy, and the Explorer activity books series with the National Trust.
