Description

Mango and Bambang reach for the stars in the fourth book of this charming illustrated series about a little girl and a tapir, described by The Sunday Times as having "real charm ... reminiscent of Paddington." Both Mango and Bambang are left star-struck when Bambang's cousin comes to town with Hollywood actress Minty Verbena. But when disaster strikes, Bambang is the true star of the show. Superstar Tapir is Book Four in this delightful series for younger readers.

Author Biography

Polly Faber is a children's book blogger and volunteer reading helper through the charity Beanstalk. With her family, she looks after her very own tiny free library outside their house in North London. Mango & Bambang is her first series of books for children. Clara Vulliamy was born in London and studied at Chelsea School of Art and the Royal Academy. She is the daughter of the celebrated author-illustrator Shirley Hughes and began illustrating picture books when she had her own children. She has since written and illustrated many stories, sometimes collaborating with her mother. She lives in Twickenham, with her husband and their daughters, Leah and Martha.

Reviews

"Here are four more adventures for Mango and her best friend Bambang the tapir and they are if anything even more appealing than previous stories, perfect fiction for young readers. [...] Beautifully illustrated, simply told but full of incident, the charm of these stories derives not just from their fun adventures but from the deep affection between the two central characters. Lovely!" * Julia Eccleshare, LoveReading *
