Author Biography

Diana Hendry is a poet, short story writer and children's author who has published over forty books for children and teenagers, including Harvey Angell, which won a Whitbread Award in 1991, and Harvey Angell Beats Time, which won the Scottish Arts Council Book Award in 2001. Diana lives in Edinburgh. Visit her online at www.dianahendry.com John Lawrence is one of the country's most distinguished children's book artists. He has contributed to well over two hundred titles as an illustrator and wood-engraver, including Lyra's Oxford by Philip Pullman, Tiny's Big Adventure by Martin Waddell and Seahorse by Chris Butterworth. John lives in Cambridge and is visiting Professor at A.P.U. Cambridge School of Art, where he lectures on the M.A. course in Children's Book Illustration.
