Reviews

My kids really enjoyed this book and the correlation wasn't lost on them as they flashed their "big and sharp" teeth. They identified with Little Dino's impulses and quickly related their own stories of prey. This short read opened up a good discussion about why biting, and especially biting people, is bad.-- "Small Strides blog" ...a good book to read to youngsters when their teeth are coming in, in order to show why they should not bite. In addition, the book provides a good book to use as a teaching point for preschool and primary age children.-- "Michelle Write blog" ...a really nice book for little dinofans.-- "NetGalley Review" ...gives plenty of examples of things NOT to bite. The illustrations are bright and aren't unnecessarily complex. I'd absolutely recommend this book to any parent having an issue with a biting child.-- "NetGalley Review" ...packed with energy, sharp drawings and a story that children can easily relate to. . . .If you don't have any of his [Michael Dahl's] books they really are a must have addition to your children's library. Dahl is in our top 5 children's authors...-- "Daddy Mojo blog" ...teach positive behavior, good manners and first words in just 20 sturdy, brightly colored and boldly illustrated pages. . . .The large fonts and few words per page make it easy for youngsters to follow along and recognize first words. Using family members like sisters, brothers, and grandparents in each story will help to make learning the lessons more realistic and less intimidating.-- "Good Reads with Ronna blog" ...this book uses bright, simple illustrations to show that the best thing to bite into is a healthy snack. A nice board book that teaches a simple lesson, although you do have to wonder how many children will be cutting their teeth on this very book. . . .board books make a great gift for new parents and their lovely (although bitey) children.-- "Miss Tiff Reads blog" A great little story to share with your "little dino" about what to chomp and what not to.-- "Novel Nutritious blog" A 20-page board book with lively, colorful illustrations, Little Dinos Don't Bite was a hit with the Little Guy. While reading the story, Little Guy would do the sound effects, bare his teeth and roar like a dinosaur. For all 20 pages he was attentive and happy to play along.-- "The Novel Life blog" Another cute board book we will be adding to our collection. Dinosaurs are a hit with toddlers.-- "NetGalley Review" As a psychologist working with children, I am often asked to address the issue of biting in young children. . . .I will be using this book when working with toddlers who bite - and recommending it to parents too. Loved the colours and the story.-- "NetGalley Review" Cute book with really cute pictures. Read it with my nephew who is learning to read and he enjoyed it.-- "NetGalley Review" Got a kid who bites? You should consider reading them this book, it may help. I loved this little dinosaur who loves to bite.-- "NetGalley Review" Great pictures and story.-- "NetGalley Review" Here is a cute and simple way to teach very small children what is acceptable to bite and what is not. . . .The large and colorful pages will appeal to little ones while they are being taught a valuable lesson.-- "Provo Library Children's Book Review" I had to buy this book and the rest of the series after reading this title. It's a big board book on simple but important etiquette lessons.-- "NetGalley Review" I loved this book. From the lively, colorful, and often times funny pictures to the positive behavior reinforcement. . . .It would be perfect for young children especially those who have a shown a pattern of biting, or to teach manners and good behavior. Perfect for a daycare, school, and in home use.-- "NetGalley Review" I read this to my 2 1/2-year-old son and he really seemed to enjoy it. . . .I think this book will be on my reader for a while, as I'll be re-reading it to him often. I would suggest that moms buy this book for their toddlers.-- "All About Sami blog" I would purchase this book as it was clever in demonstrating what to bite and what not to bite. I liked this book and my child likes this book. Great illustrations and a clever story.-- "NetGalley Review" I would purchase this for my collection. I loved it; cute bright illustrations, a silly twist, a simple story. An excellent book for a quick story time, possibly helpful if you have a little biter on your hands as well.-- "NetGalley Review" It teaches kids not to bite. The drawings are colorful. It will get the attention of kids who like dinosaurs.-- "Second Bookshelf on the Right blog" It's always a good idea to have these books on hand to share with parents when their wee ones are nibblers.-- "NetGalley Review" Michael Dahl uses this Little Dino to cleverly talk about common behaviors amongst small children in a way that is easy to understand and easy to remember. Illustrations by Adam Record are very colorful and pop on each page, making this book a feast for your eyes and not your teeth!-- "Baby Readz blog" Mr. Record's illustrations do a great job of reinforcing the author's message...keep those teeth to yourself!-- "Enchanting Children's Book Reviews blog" Part of the Hello Genius line, this story stars a green dinosaur in a graphic T-shirt and glasses whose "teeth are big and sharp" and good for one thing--biting. "Don't bite your toys! Don't bite your chair!" shouts Dahl's text, as Record's crisply rendered Little Dino does just that. The overall goal is more about humor and entertainment than behavioral encouragement, though human mothers will still appreciate the multiple reminders that say "Don't bite your mom!" Simultaneously available: Little Dinos Don't Hit, Little Dinos Don't Push, and Little Dinos Don't Yell.-- "Publishers Weekly" Perfect for that toddler who's starting to bite everything. A cute, bright, kid friendly book to help teach right & wrong.-- "NetGalley Review" Super cute - sure to be a hit with kids and their parents!-- "NetGalley Review" Sweet story teaching children in a nice way what not to bite and what to bite. I especially enjoyed the part of the book where Little Dino is encouraged to bite good foods like carrots. The illustrations were bright and colorful and will be enjoyed by the target audience of 2 to 4 year olds. Nicely written and illustrated.-- "NetGalley Review" The illustrations are cute and the story simple enough for very young children to understand and enjoy.-- "Lost in Books blog" The illustrations were awesome. The drawings coincided with the lesson and added humour to each page. Overall, I hope to see more about Little Dino.-- "NetGalley Review" These adorable picture books from Capstone teach lessons about being nice with every child's favorite animals: dinosaurs! They'll love watching the little dinos learn not to bite their moms, not to yell at their sisters, and not to hit their grandmas. These great lessons are presented in a way kids will engage with and are great for home and classroom alike.-- "U.S. Kids magazines" This book is so cute and funny! I love the illustrations, which focus on a little hipster dinosaur who likes to bite! I could see this one being read time and time again!-- "NetGalley Review" This book was short, sweet, and very helpful for a four year old that loves to chew on every single toy he gets. Besides the wonderful message instilled in these colorful pages, the illustrations are probably what held my son's interest the most.-- "Kids Corner for Super Reading blog" This book will do well with the toddler set who are the biters. They like to bite things but not the right things. . . .Bright colors and a simple story will make children smile, especially those who like dinosaurs. It is cute enough for kids and adults will get a kick out of the last line.-- "Books Beside My Bed blog" This is a good book to read to youngsters when their teeth are coming in, in order to show why they should not bite.-- "NetGalley Review" We think this is a great book for teaching positive behavior and good manners in a really fun way.-- "Maria's Space blog" We will be purchasing this one - a fun way to teach not to bite.-- "NetGalley Review"
