An inspiring junior novel with special appeal to boys. High-school student Haki needs to find the pounamu that was stolen from him after a car crash. In his search he must confront his fears and find a way to answer the challenge to serve his people, his land, to fight a taniwha and to grow into a warrior.
Author Biography
Tim Tipene is the award-winning author of children's picture books and junior novels including Bullies and Warriors and Taming the Taniwha. A youth and self-defence counsellor, he leads the Warrior Kids and Peace Masters programmes (outlined in his manual, Warrior Kids: Warrior Training for Children). Tim is the single parent of two kids and lives in Waitakere, Auckland.
