Johanna Hurwitz has written over 50 books for young readers. She visits schools around the world to speak about reading and writing. She lives in Great Neck, New York, and Wilmington, Vermont. Kathi McCord has illustrated more than 40 books for children. She teaches "Illustrating Books for Children" at the University of California, San Diego.
