Author Biography
Homer is a classical writer little is known about. He was considered by the ancientGreeks to be the greatest epic poet for his works, The Iliad and The Odyssey, twopoems that have had a lasting influence on Western literature. Andrew Lynn teaches literature and writing at Barnard College. He is currently at workon a book about musical listening, silent reading, and the nineteenth-century novel.
