Description
Anna Dewdney's New York Times bestselling series continues with a new Llama Llama concept board book about shapes and all the places to find them! Llama Llama spends the day at home, surrounded by shapes. From his bedroom to the sandbox, children will enjoy this look-and-find format as they search for all the triangles, squares, rectangles, and circles. This book is told through colourful spreads illustrated by JT Morrow that will have new Llama Llama fans turning the page to find close-up art of all the shapes.
Author Biography
Anna Dewdey passed away in September 2016, at the age of fifty from cancer. A teacher, mother, and enthusiastic proponent of reading aloud to children, she continually honed her skills as an artist and writer and published her first Llama Llama book in 2005. Her passion for creating extended to home and garden, and she lovingly restored an eighteenth-century farmhouse in southern Vermont. She wrote, painted, gardened, and lived there with her partner, Reed, her two daughters, two wirehaired pointing griffons, and one bulldog. Anna was a warm-hearted, wonderful, wise soul who will be forever missed, but whose spirit lives on in her books.
Reviews"Dewdney's iconic llama stars in this board book, a part of the Learning With Llama Llama series. The story showcases five shapes: rectangles, squares, triangles, circles, and stars. Rather than simply showing the shapes and naming them, illustrator Morrow embeds them inside scenes from the farmers market. The text is concise, and each spread features a simple question inviting participation. This title is more captivating than other shape concept books, especially those that show block-colored shapes without context. Llama Llama's popularity will make this a hit with fans, and readers looking for substance will find it. An invitation for readers to learn through observation." -Kirkus reviews
