Author Biography

For over two decades, KATE KLIMO stewarded the Dr. Seuss publishing franchise, including the development of the Cat in the Hat's Learning Library and the production of the PBS TV show based on it. She is the author of the hit middle-grade series Dragon Keepers and the young adult trilogy Centauriad. She lives in New Paltz, New York, with her husband and two horses, Fancy and Harry. STEVE JOHNSON-jointly with his wife, Lou Fancher-has illustrated over thirty books, including Jim Henson- The Guy Who Played with Puppets and The Boy on Fairfield Street by Kathleen Krull, My Many Colored Days by Dr. Seuss, New York's Bravest by Mary Pope Osborne, and Amazing Peace by Maya Angelou. Their book with Lois Duncan, I Walk at Night, was a New York Times Best Illustrated Book. They are also the recipients of a Society of Illustrators Gold Medal.
