Author Biography
Creator of one of the most popular books in children's literature, L. Frank Baum (1856-1919) wrote more than 55 novels under a variety of pseudonyms, in addition to poetry and plays. His prescient fantasies foretold such inventions as color television, laptop computers, and cordless phones. W. W. Denslow (1856-1915) is famous as the original illustrator of L. Frank Baum's many stories from the land of Oz. Denslow recognized that his work appealed to a young audience and his aim was to make children's books filled with good, clean, wholesome fun.
