M. Montgomery's Anne of Green Gables, Little Women by Louisa May Alcott, and Heidi by Johanna Spyri. About the author- Frances Hodgson Burnett (1849 - 1924) wrote several popular novels for adults, but she is best remembered for her children's novels--which include such classics as Little Lord Fauntleroy, A Little Princess, and The Secret Garden.
