Description

A brand new, never-before-seen rhyming romp of a picture book from the legendary Dr. Seuss - special Collector's edition. This never-ever-before-seen picture book by Dr. Seuss about making up one's mind is the literary equivalent of buried treasure! A brother and sister visit a pet shop to pick a pet, but can't decide which one to go for. Sometimes making a choice can seem impossible to a child, and What Pet...? explores how it is hard to make up your mind, but sometimes you just have to do it! The cliffhanger ending will also fire children's imaginations and provoke discussion about their own choices. A Publisher's Note at the end discusses the thrilling recent discovery of this new manuscript and illustrations, exploring Dr Seuss' creative process and the inspiration of his own life in his work.

Author Biography

Theodor Seuss Geisel - better known to millions of his fans as Dr. Seuss - was born the son of a park superintendent in Springfield, Massachusetts, in 1904. After studying at Dartmouth College, New Hampshire, and later at Oxford University in England, he became a magazine humorist and cartoonist, and an advertising man. He soon turned his many talents to writing children's books, and his first book - And To Think That I Saw It On Mulberry Street - was published in 1937. His greatest claim to fame was the one and only The Cat in the Hat, published in 1957, the first of a hugely successful range of early learning books known as Beginner Books.
