Description

Nail Your Next Essay is full of every tip and trick students need to get their thoughts organised. Written especially for high school students with a step-by-step process to follow (and an accompanying teacher's handbook available for classroom use), this comprehensive and approachable planner is what highschool students need to get their next essay done. Designed in line with the National Curriculum and following on from the hugely successful Night Before Essay Planner, this is an unique and indispensible workbook for students from Year Seven to Ten. Much more than a simple how-to guide, this is a workbook that takes students through the planning, researching and writing stages of building an essay. It includes practical strategies on understanding an essay question, collecting good quality evidence, taking useful notes, developing voice and argument and working with others to produce the best quality writing. Praise for The Night Before Essay Planner: 'If I could remember my time at uni, I know this book would have helped. Actually, I didn't read the whole book. Does anyone have the Cliffnotes?' Wil Anderson, comedian, writer, broadcaster 'What a great concept! All university students should regard this as a "must have" book for essays and assignments.' Graeme Davies, secondary school principal 'This book explains the process of writing is such a simple way, you'll become a better writer by reflecting and analysing, rather than memorising.' Annie Gao, university lecturer

Author Biography

Bronwyn Hall grew up in Sydney and Griffith, NSW, and studied social work and anthropology at university. Often on the move, she has spent the past two decades working, studying and travelling around the world. In Australia, while working at the University of Sydney, she noticed how much students at all levels of academia - from apprehensive first-years to time-poor post-graduates - struggled with writing essays. She founded an online resource to teach students essay writing skills called The Research Den and wrote her first book, The Night Before Essay Planner. In 2009, she won the University of Newcastle Leadership Award and the Golden Key Asia-Pacific Entrepreneur Award for her services to students. She lives in Adelaide and is currently completing a PhD.
