In 2015, she was named one of New York's Top Film Critics by The Hollywood Reporter--one of only three women that year to make the list. In addition to being a member of the prestigious New York Film Critics Circle, Weitzman holds a master's degree in cinema studies from NYU and is the author of thirty-two books for children and young adults.
