Kiwi truckies are the unsung heroes of New Zealand - the men and women who make great personal sacrifice to keep our country running. The people who devote their life, in some way or another, to what is often a hard and lonely passion. Life on the Road gathers together their fascinating stories. It captures the humour, tragedy, action and extremes of the trucking world, moving between the dramatic, light-hearted and surprising - including runaway trucks, skirmishes with the law, nostalgic tales of the early pioneers, love stories, and more than one practical joke. Whether you're a trucking die-hard or just love the wide open road and a cracking good yarn, Life on the Road is a gripping insight into the real lives of Kiwi truckies.

Author Biography

Randolph Covich is Director of Content for Bauer Media's Trader division, and edits its Deals on Wheels magazine. His love of all things trucking is longstanding. He entered his family's earthmoving company as a 20-year-old, driving trucks and heavy machinery before becoming its operations manager. He later established, with his brother, a successful aggregate-crushing business, which they have since sold. He went on to contribute the odd article to trucking magazines, eventually being offered the editorship of Deals on Wheels. Randolph lives in Titirangi with his wife Trish, with whom he has three grown children. He is also the chief fire officer at the Titirangi Volunteer Fire Brigade.
